MS Dhoni didn’t want to play for sometime: MSK Prasad

The retirement and the comeback of MS Dhoni have been two major fuming topics for the cricketing media for the last few months. The veteran has already gained any support from Indian fellows as almost all of them want Dhoni to retire earlier.

Dhoni has not been seen in the grounds since India’s semifinals match against New Zealand in 2019. However, a few spotted him in nets practicing for IPL as after making sound performance in the cash-rich league, Dhoni wanted to make a comeback on international level.

MSK Prasad said that Dhoni himself wanted to take a rest for a few months and did not want to play. He revealed that the Board decided to go with Rishabh Pant as a batsman who did well and has participated in almost all games after 2019 World Cup. KL Rahul settled himself in the team as a wicket-keeping batsman so the board can’t do unfair with them.

To be honest, Dhoni served alot to India and he deserves a farewell with dignity. Everyone today from India is against his comeback.

“I am very very clear. I made it very very clear. We had a discussion and mahi didn’t want to play for sometime, so we moved on and then picked up Rishabh Pant and we’ve been backing him,” the 45-year-old said in an interview to Fancode.

“Now, that KL also has done extremely well in limited-overs that he played in NZ, so, it would’ve been nice had this IPL held and we would’ve seen Mahi’s old glimpses back but now it’s a tricky situation,” Prasad added.

“But as far as the former cricketers are to be belived, MS Dhoni has played his last match for India and they are even of the opinion that he might have made his mind to retire from international cricket as well.”
