New Zealand’s captain, Kane Williamson, has lauded Babar Azam with praises and appreciates his back-foot punches and the most well-known cover drives.
Babar Azam is known for his consistency and cover-drives tricks across all the formats. Undoubtedly, he is the only batsman to occur in the top 5 rankings of ICC of all formats.
Kane Williamson praises Babar Azam’s cover drives
“He is a beautiful player to watch, his cover drive and his back-foot punches are just great,” he said while talking on Cricbuzz.
Kane Williamson maintained that amongst all notable cricketing legends, a thing that is common is their thrust for achieving more.
“One thing is common in these great players is their temperament, the hunger for runs and how they achieve is all very different but there are a lot of similarities in their approach to an innings,” he added.
Recently, Babar Azam has been appointed as the captain of One-Day International format. Earlier, the spot was empty of captaincy as back in 2019, Sarfaraz was sacked off from captaincy of all formats and as Pakistan had no ODI game in the near future, Pakistan left the spot empty and chose Babar Azam as the skipper of T20I. The cricket world is waiting to watch Babar’s performance with added dual roles; T20 and ODI captaincy.
