IPL 2020: It is a big blow for the Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) as one of their star pacers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled out of the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The paceman suffered a hip injury in SRH’s last encounter that was against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and was limp off the field as he tried to continue.
Undoubtedly, he is an on-field commander and best of the pacers that SRH currently have. It must be a big loss for them to lose their experience pace. However, they have multiple options that can fit in the squad and the playing XI but none of them compare to Bhuvneshwar’s experience. Notably, he has grabbed three wickets in four matches at a T20 friendly economy rate of 6.98.
T Natarajan, Khaleel Ahmed, Basil Thampi, and Siddarth Kaul are currently on the list who can be chosen as an alternate but will not be providing similar versatility as of Bhuvi. David Warner will have to choose wisely as they have lost three out of five encounters that have placed them to a grim spot on the IPL 2020 points table.
IPL 2020: Bhuvneshwar Kumar ruled out amidst hip injury
A representative of the health care department of SRH said:
“Bhuvi will not be able to take further part in this year’s tournament as he has been ruled out with a hip injury. A big blow for sure as he is someone who leads the bowling unit and is also an integral part of the leadership group on the ground.”
