Imam ul Haq, an opening batsman of Pakistan, has used Rohit Sharma in his examples and says that Pakistani players shall follow footsteps of the veteran.

In a live session with cricket Pakistan, Imam uttered that Pakistan cricket players go in the ground with the fear of losing. The left-handed batsman feels that they shall be confident enough so that fear of failure cannot distract them in the grounds.

According to Imam, PCB shall take care of their players like Indian Board did with Rohit Sharma when he was out of his form.

Earlier, Rohit lacked consistency upon which BCCI management took a look which later granted him the perfect form with enhanced confidence and now everyone in the world knows what Rohit Sharma is in all forms of the game. He occupied the position of vice captain as well as the skipper of IPL’s franchise, Mumbai Indians, which at the time is most successful franchise of the league in 12 years.

Imam, on the other hand has a bright career so far in ODIs. He smashed his last hundred in 2019. However, the left-handed is yet to impress the fans and the board in T20Is and Test formats.

“Our team has a fear of failure, although that is my personal assessment, which is why players don’t perform consistently. They are worried about getting dropped from the side after two or three poor performances,” Imam was quoted as saying during an Instagram Live session, reported by Cricket Pakistan.

“Communication gap between the board and players also results in inconsistency. This is not the case with other teams around the world. If you look at the example of Rohit Sharma, who did not do well initially in his career but India trusted him and he came good later,” he added.
