Deep Dasgupta: Suresh Raina will be back to CSK for IPL 2020

“I have a feeling that Suresh Raina will be back playing the IPL. He might miss out on the first few games because of the quarantine rules and all but I have a feeling that Suresh will be back,” Dasgupta told ESPNCricinfo. “I won’t be surprised if they don’t pick a replacement for Suresh.”

“I’ve been training even while quarantining here. You never know you might see me in the camp there again,” Raina had recently said.

Presenting his own opinion, Dasgupta believes that no one else other than Jalaj Saxena might be a better replacement for Suresh Raina as Saxena, being an all-rounder, could clinch Harbhajan’s post too.

It is to be noted that Harbhajan Singh, after Raina, too has departed for India to meet with his family after two months and crores did not attract him over his children.

“As far as the replacement is concerned, there aren’t too many options. But I think Jalaj Saxena deserves a place, he’s a good enough all-rounder. I think they might look at him, he’s a very good option for Bhajji’s replacement,” Dasgupta added.

It is to be noted that much-awaited ride is all set to drive by 19th September to last till 3rd November. The formal schedule is also finally out with 24 matches to be played at Dubai, and 20 and 12 at Abu Dhabi, Sharjah respectively.
