BCCI slams ICC for delaying the decision on the ICC T20 World Cup 2020

The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has slammed the International Cricket Council (ICC) for delaying the decision on the ICC T20 World Cup 2020.

The decision is still pending as no official announcement has been made. Although the chances are of cancelation BCCI thinks that ICC shall at least announce if they wanna go towards cancelation.

Not taking a decision over the T20 World Cup has hung other nations by threat as they cannot even think of organizing their bilateral series when the decision on the mega-event is yet to be taken.

The official of the Indian board made it clear that it is not only about holding IPL. As if the mega-event cancels, IPL will get a clear and vast window to be held.

“Why is the outgoing ICC chairman (Manohar) creating confusion? If the host cricket board doesn’t want to conduct T20 World Cup, why will it take a month to announce the decision? Is he trying to hold BCCI to ransom?” a senior BCCI official said as quoted by The New Indian Express.

“It’s just not about the BCCI or the IPL. If ICC announces the postponement during this month, even those member nations whose players are not a part of IPL can plan their bilateral series in that window. -making will hurt everybody,” added the BCCI official.

According to the existing schedule, the World Cup is to be stage by 18th October in Australia. Still, there are impprobabilities as other countries as suffering the Coronavirus but the official announcement is still to be made.
