Australia’s Steve Smith, experiencing the concussion symptoms, shall have missed the thirteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) but Rajasthan Royals are confident of Kangaroo’s presence for the 2020 edition.

Smith is likely to play the opening game despite the fact that he struggled physically between the wickets in Australia vs England matches held recently and hardly went for a big score. He was eventually out by the medical staff. However, he is a prolifically electrifying asset when it comes to smashing runs with the bat. Hence, RR can be at an advantage of having him.

“Steve is making progress and working with our medical team through the concussion protocols required to return to play,” CA’s head of sports science Alex Kountouris said as quoted by ESPNcricinfo. “Unfortunately, he was not ready to play the final ODI against England. We are working collaboratively with his IPL franchise on his return to play from here once he arrives in the UAE,” he added.

However, the Royals are likely to miss Ben Stoke’s professional services in the middle-overs and his all-rounding skills that conclude his bowling abilities as well.

Royals, who have clinched the title of the IPL back in 2008, are ready to show their performances once again. The side has been scheduled to play their first match against Dhoni’s army, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 22nd September at Sharjah.
