The much-awaited extravaganza, the Indian Premier League (IPL), is finally all set to be commenced by 19th September after facing multiple hurdles in its way. The season will surely serve as the practising and warming up platform along with preparing the player for the upcoming mega-event, ICC T20 World Cup.

There cannot be a better platform to work on the self for the T20 World Cup as there was no cricket for months. With the ride being started soon, the players are eager to drive and will be in the competition with each other to get selected for the ICC’s event on behalf of their terrific performances. It is, in short, a golden chance for Indian batsman to prove their worths.

1- Dinesh Karthik:

The wicket-keeping batsman is known to be the best choice for India squad when it comes to choosing the finisher. Also, after MS Dhoni has retired, the BCCI might be looking for the best of finishers for the upcoming T20 World Cup. With a total of 3,654 runs in 182 matches, he needs to add some more to inspire the management. One the selection committee is inspired by his IPL 2020 performance, the crowd will be witnessing Dinesh in the squad for the mega-event.

2- Rishabh Pant:

 

There is a huge competition for the wicket-keeping spot between KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant. After Dhoni has retired, BCCI seems in trouble to grant the post. However, there has been no international cricket for India but the World Cup straight after IPL 2020, can witness Rishabh on behalf of his domestic performance that would be seen by 19th September. 1,734 runs in 54 matches are already eye-clinching and an inward eye is to be upon him after how he has served Indian international cricket.

3- Sanju Samson:

Sanju Samson, with 2,209 runs in 93 matches, would have to be a little more exceptional to prove his worth. There is still a vast number of players available hence, the selection is going to be a critically tough game for the related committee. The player has not been utilized so well in the opportunities he has been given in India’s T20I but it can be an open vacancy for him linked with his objective to clinch the space in the squad.

 

4- Suryakumar Yadav:

While never getting a chance for international matches, the management might look for Suryakumar’s performances in IPL 2020. 1,5478 runs in 85 matches require a handy sensation this season. Hence, he needs to be extraordinarily consistent to make it to the T20 World Cup squad for Men in Blue.

5- Ambati Rayudu:

With his last T20I played back in October 2015, he has a brilliant opportunity to be back on the track. One good season of IPL might decide his destiny for the mega-event. 3,300 runs in 147 matches need an excellent add on this season and it will make him potent to command the side from the front.
