Jimmy Neesham has not been impressive this season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) which as a consequence has dragged him under hot waters. Recently, a Twitter user was spotted terming Neesham as an overpaid celebrity hitting a cricket ball.
The Kiwi player could not keep his calm and gave an apt answer. As the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) bought him for INR 50 Lakhs, and his performance has not been worth the money, he has been criticized.
Notably, he was playing IPL after seven years but failed to utilize the opportunities. In the four matches, he could only score 17 runs in two innings at a strike rate of 113.33. He also grabbed two wickets giving 122 runs in 12 overs at an economy of 10.16.
Back in 2014, he played for the Delhi Daredevils who are now known as the Delhi Capitals (DC). He ended as the poor performer scoring only 42 runs from 4 games at an average of 14. He was also expensive with the ball giving 91 runs in 12 overs at an economy of 10.11
A fan calls KXIP’s Jimmy Neesham an overpaid cricketer
The user wrote. “Stick to cricket. We don’t need your entitled opinion on the world. Overpaid celebrity hitting a cricket ball. Remember the world cup final when you bombed in the super over?” Taking note of his tweet, Neesham responded saying, “Yeah that bomb was pretty good. About 20 rows back from my memory.”
