IPL 2020: Here is why Chris Gayle has not played yet

The Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) hit the floors on 29th September when the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) faced each other. The teams are struggling to reach playoffs and challenging the IPL trophy as no franchise is showing their worst. The matches are far more than thrilling to witness as in a total of thirteen matches, two super overs have been registered.

One of the franchises, the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) played the first super over of the 2020 edition against the Delhi Capitals (DC) but lost unfortunately as the on-field umpire gave a wrong call for short-run.

IPL 2020: Here is why Chris Gayle has not played yet

KXIP are going well as the two openers, Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul, have registered their centuries for the season. They seem irreplaceable amidst their terrific performances. However, they have not selected the Universe Boss, Chris Gayle, yet in any of the three matches played.

The masses wonder why the hard-hitter of the ball is still missing on KXIP’s matches despite that Rahul said he might be useful for us and felt glad on having Gayle in his team.

The opening duo of Rahul’s army might be the reason for not choosing him as the pair has suited well and has opened up to the expectations.

Gayle, who usually suits well at top-order, takes time to settle in the mid-overs. As the top-order is already stable, it has refrained him from playing and the team have been reluctant to him.
