The match fifty-five, that is the second last league match of the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) is to be played between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Delhi Capitals (DC). It is a must win game for both sides as the win for each them will be a confirmaion ticket directly to the playoffs for them.

The RCB can be the second team to get qualified for the playoffs as they already rank second on the IPL 2020 points table but there can be a twist if they will be defeated in the hands of DC tonight but they won’t be kicked out if they will lost tonight. In this case, there will be only a way out – to wait for the Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) defeat tomorrow in the hands of the already qualified Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians (MI).

Similar is the case for the Shreyas Iyer-led Capitals and they will be waiting for SRH’s defeat. After tonight’s clash, there still is a possibility of three teams to end on 14 points and the SRH loss will guarantee RCB, DC, and KKR in the remaining 2, 3, and 4th slot.

Discussing the case if SRH win tomorrow, the net run-rate will be another factor to have under consideration and as a consequence, there will be a tie between KKR and Bangalore based side with equal points. Virat Kohli’s side currently has a NRR of -0.145 and if they lost tonight exceeding 22 runs with DC finishing the chase in 18 overs, KKR NRR will surpass and they will be qualified leaving no chance for Kohi’s men with the sliding down NRR (in case if lose against DC tonight).
