Sunil Gavaskar is trending on social media after the masses have found his comments on Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma as taunting and offensive. However, his statements are clearly misinterpreted as he jokingly commented over Kohli’s performance that has been miserable since the last two games.
Being the skipper of his team, the player has failed to score, and hence, the commentator sarcastically added that he might have only practiced his wife’s ball. The social media bloomed and spread the news that reached Anushka as well and she has been furious over the scene as well.
Did Sunil Gavaskar really make a taunting comment on Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma?
Also, Anushka has found it offensive as she posted an Instagram story appealing Gavaskar to take down his comment. She also wrote that she has no idea when the public will stop dragging her in cricket. Here is her story:\
“Lockdown tha to sirf Anushka ki bowling ki practice ki unhone, wo video dekhi hai (reference to aforementioned video), usse to kuch nahi hona hai,” he said. (The statement roughly translates to – During the lockdown he practised only Anushka’s bowling, I had seen in a video. But that is not going to be enough.)
