The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who featured in their first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020), have suffered a mega-blow after Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians (MI) have smashed them a miserable defeat.
MI, who have earlier played their inaugural match against the Chennai Super King (CSK) on the opening day, faced a defeat hence, were motivated enough to thrash any opponent in front of them.
Undoubtedly, Sharma’s captaincy is one of the bests in the limited-over cricket as his side has already been four times IPL winner, most wins by any franchise in the history of IPL.
Mumbai Indians won by 49 runs, a big blow to the Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR stepped in the ground with confidence of being winner but the veteran side wiped their dreams and expectations away. Sharma’s 80 (54), Suryakumar’s 47 (28) and Saurabh’s 21 (13) helped them to score 195 losing five wickets. It was a long way to go for KKR on a humid pitch and their batting line collapsed on 146. It was interesting to see that a bowler, Pat Cummins, scored 33 runs that was most by any batsmen of KKR in today’s match.
However, they are scheduled to play the next game against Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) who have already lost their first game and will be using every card to be on the winning platform.
