KL Rahul, the commander of the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) is doing an incredible job. He has fitted best with Mayank Agarwal as the opener and the duo is terrifically exciting to witness by their opponent. However, they have lost three out of four matches played, but they look one of the favorites to qualify for the playoffs.
After his impressive performances for the Indian national team, Rahul looks capable of IPL as well. His unbeaten 132 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was the highest individual score by any Indian in the cash-rich league and also the highest by the skipper.
When the duo failed to perform against the Mumbai Indians (MI), the team fell short of wickets on 143 in a hunt of 192 runs. It clears that the Rahul-Agarwal duo is needed the most for their side to lead from the front. Upon his professionalism, he has been lauded with praises by much cricketing fraternity.
Sanjay Bangar, the former Indian cricketer, believes that Rahul is an Indian answer to South Africa’s AB De Villiers who is popularly known as MR 360. Rahul’s slight focus in on 360-degree shots and it makes him comparable to South Africa’s veteran.
Is KL Rahul comparable to AB De Villiers?
“Everyone calls AB de Villiers Mr 360, I’d like to say KL Rahul is India’s 360,” Bangar said on Star Sports.
It is to be noted that the KXIP are scheduled to play their next game against CSK on 4th October at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. The leading skipper’s score will be highly reliant on their victory as CSK, on losing their two matches, will be looking to continue with stability considering being the IPL’s second most successful franchise.
