IPL 2020: Here is what is affecting Kings XI Punjab

The Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) despite having an aggressive batting line-up, have lost six out of seven matches and that indeed is much horrendous for them to witness. KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal, who ranks first and second respectively in the Orange Caps contestants list, are the deadly opening duo that is trying their hundred percent to lift the team-up.

Ever wondered why they are still losing? People believe the side does not have wicket-taking bowlers although Mohammad Shami has a command over other bowlers in every match. Also, the former Indian wicket-keeper, Kiran More, believes that side lacks wicket picking bowlers.

He praised Shami and said they do not have strike bowlers that are must to have in the T20 format. Discussing Jordan, More added that he is not bolding batsmen neither catching them out and has termed his wickets as odd.

“Kings XI Punjab’s problem is that they do not have wicket-taking bowlers, someone who can go into the match and take three wickets. They have only one bowler, that is Mohammed Shami.”

“The rest if you see, they have Jordan, he will bowl the overs where he will bowl the slower ones and get an odd wicket caught at long-off or long-on. He will not get any batsman caught behind or bowled.”

The former cricketer, however, praised KXIP’s spinner saying Bishnoi is doing a splendid job being a youngster. He added that the batsmen are doing their job comfortably but it will not help in winning many matches. One can have a grip on one or two matches with a good batting line-up. He went on criticizing the team’s poor combination.

“If you talk about the spinners, they have Mujeeb. Ravi Bishnoi has been lucky for them because he is a young player who is bowling well.”

“I feel they have a lot of problems. They are batting very well. They have the Orange Cap holder, they have Mayank Agarwal who is batting very well. But if I see their overall team combination, they do not have the right combination.”

“You need to have good bowlers and good spinners, then only your team can win matches. Because in the T20 format wicket-taking bowlers are required in your team, then only you can win T20 matches. Even if you have five good batsmen, you will win one or two matches but will not win many matches.”
