England’s cricket star, Ben Stokes has lost his father on Tuesday. Missing him, he has posted a heartwrenching message to late Ged on his Instagram.

Ged was a former Rugby player and a coach who represented New Zealand in his tenure. For months, he was suffering from brain cancer and was kept in Christchurch as Ben left during Pakistan vs England test series that took place this summer.

Stokes also missed the first half-season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) taking care of his father in Christchurch. Notably, before Ged’s admission for healthcare, he voyaged South Africa to support his son and had to be admitted in the midst of the games.

It is sad to mention that Stokes is currently in South Africa for the limited-over series. He has played a three-match T20I series but the ODIs have been frozen due to the positive COVID-19 case spotted.
