According to some official sources, the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking forward to adding a new team to the Indian Premier League (IPL) by IPL 2021.
The fans might witness the ninth IPL team as the talks are under consideration and are likely to be exposed to this Diwali. Earlier, the reports disclosed two new additions to the prior eight teams making it ten but following some unrevealed issues, the tenth franchise will be invented by IPL 2022.
As per the reports, the Tatas and Adani groups have shown their interest in new IPL franchises and the BCCI and the governing council might meet to decide on the agenda.

“The tender is most likely to come after Diwali, once a decision is taken in this regard. And regardless of whether it’s one franchise or two, if new teams come in then a mega auction cannot be avoided,” sources were quoted as saying in The Times of India (TOI).
However, the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) has finally been finished choosing the Mumbai Indians (MI) as the fifth-time IPL winner.
The league was initially to be started by 29th March but faced several hurdles as the Coronavirus took over the nerves of everyone. As the countries are still suffering and India being the major one, the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to move to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The fans waited for so long as the cricketing activities were halted for months amidst the global pandemic. Then, the IPL finally began and presented some real quality cricket and the recorded number of virtual watchers have broken the records.
