Australia displaced Pakistan in ICC ranking for T20 teams

Australia have occupied the first spot in ICC ranking for T20 teams as they have slid down Pakistan to the fourth spot according to the recent and updated ICC rankings revealed.

Pakistan’s 27 months longer streak has been broken as Finch’s side have snatched their first position from them. Australia are now the table toppers with 278 points.

The performances of Pakistan since 2019 in T20Is had not been good so far. They lost to South Africa, England, and Australia, however, managed a home series win earlier this year against Bangladesh that has not granted enough as they have been deprived of their spot.

Pakistan took hold of the first position in ICC rankings for T20 teams under Sarfaraz Ahmed’s captaincy. He was one of the finest skippers who held his team through harder times and dragged them towards victory. The eleven consecutive series win for Pakistan came under Sarfaraz’s captaincy as well. However, the board took the childish decision ever after the management of PCB was changed. They sacked Sarfaraz from the captaincy of all the occupied formats and as well as from the national squads.

Australia, despite being No. 1 T2o team in the world are also the No. 1 Test team in the world in ICC rankings. England have moved to second spot and are on 268 ranking points whereas India occupies the third spot with 266 ranking points.
